Job Description Sr. Tax ManagerDescription
We are seeking a Sr. Tax Manager to assists the Chief Financial Officer and the Sr. Director of Finance with managing and organizing the business unit tax function in coordination with Segment Tax Director and Corporate Tax Department. The following duties will be required: •Responsible for business unit tax function in coordination with Segment Tax Director and Corporate Tax Department. •Advise Business Unit personnel on all tax aspects of business operations, including strategic tax planning, US federal, US state & local,; and applicable foreign tax requirements in coordination with Segment and Corporate tax personnel.•Ensure Business Unit compliance with existing tax law and regulations in coordination with Segment and Corporate tax personnel.•Analyze Business Unit financial data and prepare tax provision.•Prepare Business Unit federal estimated payment information.•Assist with tax aspects of merger and acquisitions, divestitures, internal reorganizations and new business opportunities, including the internal diligence process and communications with outside advisors.•Assist in the development of, and coordinate the implementation of post-acquisition integration, restructuring and planning.•Develop relevant facts and initial tax analysis of audit positions with the taxing authorities and work with Segment and Corporate tax personnel to manage and resolve issues.•Identify and periodic disclosure of material business transactions to the auditors under the IRS Compliance Assurance Process (CAP) and tax return statements and elections.•Analyze effects to the Business Unit of changes in the tax law and regulations; monitor and advise Business Unit personnel on pending legislation and regulations potentially affecting the Business Unit; support the Company s efforts in obtaining favorable changes in the tax law.•Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Education/Experience – Must Have: •Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, MST (obtained or in process) strongly preferred; CPA strongly preferred; law degree (J.D.) helpful; LLM (taxation) helpful. •7+ year s relevant experience. •Big-4 and/or other accounting firm (or equivalent experience strongly preferred and some corporate tax department (or equivalent) experience very helpful.•Experience in U.S. federal corporate income taxation essential, experience in U.S. state & local taxation essential; experience in U.S. taxation of international income helpful, IRS controversy and litigation helpful.•Strong research skills.•Strong communication skills – Verbal and written.•Strong interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.•Proficiency in MS Work, PowerPoint and Excel.•Ability to function efficiently and cooperatively as a team member and create effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.•Ability to lead the tax functions at an individual Business Unit level critical.•Ability to gather and synthesize information develop recommendations despite legal and factual ambiguities, and drive implementation process critical.
