Description: Structures Project Engineer
Position Summary

Primarily responsible for the structural integration and engineering of various avionics/electrical systems on commercial and military aircraft.
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities

� Develop and produce mechanical/structural design data required for the proper manufacture, assemble and installation of aircraft modifications and components without assistance.

� Research and review engineering data (drawings, reports, manuals, etc.) defining aircraft structure or systems to determine the most efficient method of modification or alteration.

� Develop preliminary engineering and analysis necessary to substantiate aircraft modifications. Interface with Avionics engineers, production facility, sheet metal fabricators, and machine shops to ensure that all designs meet their intended function and the established FAA regulatory criteria.

� Coordinate directly with Program Managers to ensure project is completed as defined and on schedule.

� Generate engineering data with respect to accuracy and detail that is commensurate with experience level.

� Support sales and business units on projects and proposals.

� Perform on-site surveys.

� Provide technical support for projects during kitting and aircraft installation.

� Support technical meetings (ITCM, PDR, CDR, etc.) as required.
Experience and Educational Requirements

� BS Degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and coursework.

� 3 to 5 years of experience in the Aerospace engineering field, preferably dealing in the design of modifications, repair and maintenance of transport category aircraft.

� Must be willing to relocate to Miramar, FL.

� Knowledge of designing with sheet metal, stress analysis, and failure and fatigue analysis.

� Must be detail oriented.

� Familiarity with FAA Certification processes and Federal Aviation Regulations.

� Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

� Must be proficient in 2D computer generated drawings using AutoCAD 2002 or later, 3D modeling and solids, and proficient in Microsoft Office products.

� Working knowledge of the use and application of aircraft technical data.

� Must be able to work in a fast paced environment which emphasizes handling multiple priorities.

� Proven leadership, teamwork, organizational and communication skills.
Travel Requirements:

To support surveys for assigned projects and provide on-site technical support at customer request.
Working Conditions

Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds. Requires walking and standing and some climbing during the day.

Work environment involved some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
