          TheRN Critical Care Open Hearton the Cardiac Surgical Unit (CSU) provides of nursing care to the adult CV patients immediately post-operatively based upon the nursing process and for which educational background has provided nursing skills. May assume responsibilities of charge nurse when the need arises. Directly supervises LPNs, Nursing Assistants, Unit Secretaries, ICU Monitor Technicians and Critical Care Technicians. Our CSU features 10 beds and serves 6 - 8 patients daily.
           
          Desired skills:Strong RN ICU background and fresh post-op hearts experience required. Experience with balloon pumps & Swanz' preferred.
           
          Largo Medical Center utilizes complete computerized charting (Meditech) for patient assessment and care documentation, and eMAR to electronically record medication administration for the delivery of all medications provided to their patients. To maintain Per Diem / PRN status, a minimum of two shifts per month are required.
           
          Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN preferred.
          Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
          Current Florida State Registered Nurse license.
          Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS certification).
          Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
          Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
